The Jewish Bible begins with God creating His first family on earth: The first Man (everyone calls him Adam) and the first Woman named Eve. Eve literally means the mother of all living.
Genesis 3:20 Complete Jewish Bible
The man called his wife Havah [life], because she was the mother of all living.
Genesis 3:20 Young’s Literal Translation
Now Adam named his wife Eve because she was the mother of all the living.
I find it absolutely FANTASTIC that Marvel comics began with its first family too:

How the first family defined the human history in the Bible?
- The first Man and the first Woman (Genesis 1-2)
- The first crime in history when Cain murdered Abel (Genesis 4)
- A Great Flood that renewed mankind as recorded by many ancient religions/cultures (Genesis 6-8)
- The first 70 Nations (Genesis 10)
- The beginning of languages and cultures because of the event at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11)
How the first family defined Marvel comic history?
Fantastic Four introduced:
- Mole Man, ruler of Subterranea [Fantastic Four #1 (1961)]
- The Skrulls from planet Skrullos [Fantastic Four #2 (1961)]
- (Reintroduced) Namor, ruler of Atlantis [Fantastic Four #4 (1962)]
- Dr Doom, ruler of Latveria [Fantastic Four #5 (1961)]
- Black Bolt, ruler of the Inhumans [Fantastic Four #41 / #45 (1965)]
- Black Panther, ruler of Wakanda [Fantastic Four #52 (1966)]
- Marvel Zombies in an Earth-2149 of Marvel Zombies [Ultimate Fantastic Four #21-23 (2005)]
- The Maker – Evil Reed Richards [Fantastic Four #1 (2004), Ultimate Doom #4 (2011), Ultimate Comics Ultimate #2 (2011)]
Enter DOOM
Dr Doom alone takes home the most iconic villain in Marvel history by interfering with almost every Marvel hero (and possibly every badass villain) known to us!

Believe it folks, there is a Bible verse to describe Doom! In old Wycliffe English:
Psalm 9:7-8 Wycliffe Bible
…and the Lord dwelleth [into] without end. He hath made ready his throne in doom;
and he shall deem the world in equity, he shall deem peoples in rightfulness.
Another verse from the New Testament sayeth:
Luke 18:6-7 Wycliffe Bible
And the Lord said, Hear ye, what the doomsman of wickedness saith; and whether God shall not do [the] vengeance of his chosen, crying to him day and night, and shall have patience in them?
The Oxford Dictionary lists 10 definitions of the word ‘Doom’ with sub definitions and I want to point put a relevant few:
- A judgement or decision, esp. one formally pronounced; a sentence; mostly in adverse sense, condemnation, sentence of punishment.
- Fate, lot, irrevocable destiny. (Usually of adverse fate; rarely in good sense.)
- Final fate, destruction, ruin, death.
- The last or great Judgement at the end of the world; also, a pictorial representation of this. archaic. (Now chiefly in crack of doom.)
- Day of doom (Doomsday)
- Justice; equity; righteousness. Cf. judgement n. Obsolete. (Chiefly in versions of Scripture, or allusions thereto.)
- Power or authority to judge; gen. power, authority. Obsolete.

Psalm 9:7-8 saith, “He hath made ready his throne in doom;” and the judge in Luke 18:4 who Doctor Doom is very much like is described as neither fearing God nor regarded men.
Even Stan Lee loves Doctor Doom because in a recorded interview he said:
“Everybody has Doctor Doom misunderstood. Everybody thinks he’s a criminal, but all he wants is to rule the world. Now, if you really think about it objectively, you could walk up to a policeman, and you could say, ‘Excuse me, officer, I want to tell you something: I want to rule the world.’ He can’t arrest you; it’s not a crime to want to rule the world. So […] it’s unfair that he’s considered a villain, because he just wants to rule the world. Then maybe he could do a better job of it. So I’m very interested in Doctor Doom, and I’d like to clear his name.”
So perhaps God wanted to give us some fun with a pun on Doom to bring us joy through great stories where everything ends with DOOM.
